“Wanted” is a mile-a-second action represent that never lets up. Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) suddenly finds that his life as an ordinary office worker is over. The main attraction of “Wanted” is the improbable spend of CGI special effects, from glass panes shattering as bodies glide through them to bullets redirecting their trajectory in mid-propulsion. Jolie manages to peruse as comfortable in action flicks as in serious dramas like the original “Changeling.” She is quite the action babe and easy on the ogle. McAvoy, who showed his acting chops in “The Last King of Scotland” and “Atonement” seems an weird fit for “Wanted.” He looks as if he’s doing this one to pay for the current swimming pool. He’s elegant in the early scenes as a drone-like worker lost in a tremendous company, but his transformation into this almost-indestructible shipshape assassin is harder to pick up. I’m surprised at the number of dreadful reviews for this film. I have to admit that I picked it up with slight expectations, but once into it, I found it to be a bloody, irresistible ride—for what it is, that is.

This film was spectacular in Blu-ray, appearing almost 3-D, at times. The CGI and audio were equally adrenaline pumping and, although I’m not usually into blood-fest, action films, this one became addictive.

Yeah, the place was little, but I found a stout deal of enjoyment watching James McAvoy morph from a passive, introverted, office cube-jockey, into a man. One who learned to terminate saying, ‘I’m sorry,’ for honest about everything. I did score myself mentally repeating, ‘wax on, wax off,’ during some of his lethality training, with grief taking his transformation seriously .

Morgan Freeman has been a vast addition to so many films, but he often tends to advance across with the same acting formula. His abilities were stretched, with this atypical character. Amazingly, he can actually be a convincing ‘bad guy.’ Who knew!

Angelina Jolie’s role was a piece-of-cake for her. She rarely had any dialogue. She was basically eye-candy, for the guys. But, her sultry, sexy, witchy-eyed attributes were perfect for this killing-machine, character. Hmm, I’m skittish of her! And, she does angst SO well with those pouty lips, doesn’t she.

So, if you idea this movie with casual expectations and are willing to allow yourself the enjoyment of pure escapism and bloody mayhem, I consider you will devour this movie. Objective don’t have too many espressos before watching. You could perform a cardiac arrhythmia .

I’m quite surprised by some of the other reviews I have read for this 8th season of ER. I found it to be refreshing and surprising. We received a very well-rounded notion of many characters we had near to know, both inside and outside of the hospital. I very powerful enjoyed the chronicle lines that took spot on both levels. Between Dr. Benton and his family area, Abby and her neighbor troubles, and the deteriorating home life on Doctors Greene and Corday, the hospital wasn’t the only status with action. One character that really stands out in this season is Dr. Weaver. She begins the season excited and vengeful, but suddenly daring on a black and stormy night inside a crashed ambulance. And it’s on that night where we recognize her prefer a apt turn, finally towards care for, and we score her emerging onto a more personable level. And while every season has been like that to a point with its characters, I understanding season 8 really shined with this balance. Not only that, but we also got to witness sides of doctors that we had never really been aware of before. Season 8 showed us that Dr. Chen actually knew how to stand up for herself. It showed us that Dr. Carter had successfully overcome his demons and was ready to step up as a correct leader, admist family problems of his hold. And perhaps most surprising of all was the softer side of the loud and proud Dr. Romano, who not only quietly counseled Dr. Corday as she dealt with the news that Dr. Greene’s tumor had returned, but he also showed an emotional moment during surgery as he referred to Greene’s death.

I’d go as far as to say the majority of the episodes during season 8 were worthy, and I’m thrilled they are now available to us on DVD.

We can, of course, argue endlessly over which seasons are ‘best’ and which episodes are ‘best’, and there is no suitable or corrupt reply, since we all have different tastes. IMO, Season 8 wasn’t one of the better of the ‘middle’ seasons. I found most of the Dr. Greene/Elizabeth/Rachel stuff to be dumb in the coarse, Kerry’s ‘outing’ very badly handled, the Nicole anecdote pointless, and Benton’s paternity story-line utterly monotonous. On the other hand, the return of Dr. Lewis and the storylines with Carter’s mom were very appetizing. Mild, I generally preferred Seasons 6,7 and 9.

Be that as it may — the DVDs. It seems that as the series goes on the DVDs become more and more bare-bones, while the stamp remains about the same. The extras include the usual deleted scenes (some of which were not actually deleted …), and a very short gag reel, (which took some hunting down — it was on a different disc than the box claimed) about a quarter of which consists of scenes of Tony Edwards surfing in Hawaii. That’s it. No commentary tracks. While the box claims to have French language subtitles, the discs only offer English.

I was extremely skeptical when I heard about the proposed prequel to the greatest television science fiction saga of this generation. Attempting to cash in on the success of Battlestar Galactica so soon after the series ended seemed like a losing proposition doomed to mar an fabulous franchise. Well, judge those fears alleviated. With Battlestar Galactica now over, the team that brought us one of the best sci-fi shows of the last decade now step attend into the series’ hold history with Caprica. Site 58 years before the drop of the colonies, this reveal has a very different feel and earn from it’s predecessor.

Both Daniel and Joseph struggle to arrive to terms with their loss but in the wake of the tragedy they both open to fetch something out about themselves.

So when you hear Mr. Burton is directing a film based on an Eastern European folktale in which one of the heroines-the heroines, mind you—is a corpse….well, family fare is not what comes to mind.

And, although it’s inviting, Corpse Bride definitely is not for the younger dwelling, 9 or so and below. These characters gape creepy. The title character has a habit of losing her contemplate and talking to the maggot, Louie, who lives slow it. Skeletons of dogs and people poke and talk about in the “underworld”.

Briefly, “Corpse Bride” is an inspiring operetta in which Victor (voiced by Johnny Depp), son of fishmongers, is engaged to Victoria, (Emily Watson) the daughter of nobles who are now penniless. Neither know each other but meet accidentally and descend in adore. When Victor stumbles over his complicated wedding vows at the rehearsal, he’s humiliated by a stranger at the wedding (Richard E. Grant) and walks in the woods to practice. When he says the vows, he places the ring on a “twig” that turns out to be the finger of Emily (Helena Bonham-Carter), the Corpse Bride, who of course jumps up and happily informs him they are married. (She’s very delicate, by the map, dull or not) .

Much of the rest of the movie is taken up by Victor trying to figure out how to pick up out from the Underworld and by Emily trying to either sigh he’s doing that or actively convince him to pause. Gradually, however, Victor finds, to his surprise, that he is falling in esteem with Emily.

Leave the wee ones with the other parent next door at “March of the Penguins” or “Wallace and Gromit: Search for the Were-Rabbit”, then huddle with the rest of the kids to spy this fabulous film.

Corpse Bride was the first Blu-Ray movie I couldn’t wait to peruse. I had it on DVD and viewed it many times and as I knew the movie inside and out, along with the issues with displaying the SD DVD on my HD TV, I was furious to be able to beget a side by side comparison between the 2 releases.

Corpse Bride on Blu-Ray completely blows the other Blu-Ray movies I contain out of the water in terms of authoring. The clarity of the image is astonishing and the disagreement between DVD and Blu-Ray is made overly apparent when you can do a comparison of the 2 directly.

In the Blu-Ray release of CB you can glimpse the texture of the puppets’ faces, something certainly lacking in the DVD. You can also observe in the skeleton dance scene some of the metal bits holding the puppets together. On the DVD you can contemplate it but it is difficult or nearly impossible to whisper what the knowing allotment is.

As far as the movie, it’s a big cherish narrative in Tim Burton’s typical curved fashion.

Definitely worth checking out as a movie but also top-notch of checking out what Blu-Ray is superior of.

I have seen An Affair to Remember long before I watched Care For Affair. Altho “An Affair…” became one of my approved classics (along w/ Gone with the Wind and Casablanca), I personally engage Savor Affair because i was more moved by it. the actors are shining, especially Ms. Bening, whose eyes captivate the audience. she unbiased GLOWS in it and Mr Beatty is effortless in playing himself. they give the film a sense of reality. the movies basks the audiences in feeling of excitement, despair and hope of falling in admire. it’s a classic. so yeah, don’t forget the box of tissue. i can’t bag enough of this film!

As always, Beatty surrounds his main characters without outstanding supporting players, from Kate Capshaw and Pierce Brosnan as the unusual intendeds with whom no one can come by fault, to Brenda Vaccaro and Paul Mazursky as other couple on the boat, to Garry Shandling and Harold Ramis as Mike’s agent and financial adviser, to Chloe Webb as Terry’s confidant after “the accident.” If, in the final analysis, Beatty is not up to the pivotal moment in the climax where the pieces approach together, then it is because the memory of Cary Grant’s performance in the previous remake is honest too overwhelming. Certainly Benning shines throughout the film, so there is no doubt why he is after her even if the opposite is established more by Beatty’s reputation, wonderfully established in a series of news flashes in the film’s opening, than by anything the actor actually does in the film itself. He looks obedient, but she looks tall and you extinguish up thinking Beatty remade this film not unprejudiced because its legend hits home to him but also because he really wants to explain off his wife. Ultimately it is the women in this film who redeem it and do it more than what Annette and Warren did on their summer vacation, although the fact that the woman is the more sharp character this time is probably not enough to obtain it advance out ahead of the Grant/Kerr version for most of us.

This video is the first 3 episodes of the current series.. It introduces most of the characters, and gives friendly insight into the younger years of the X-Men. I would reccomend it to all fans, over the modern arresting series.

It’s certainly proper that X-Men: Evolution is toned down in terms of violence. It’s aimed more for PG-13, not R as the other rater seems to want.

But it’s composed an wonderful reveal, and anyone who can indulge in the movies should certainly relish the spicy series. If you hated the movies due to inaccuracies with the comical books then you won’t like this series either. The characters in the series are nearly identical to the ones from the movies, with the exception of Nightcrawler. In the movies, he was blue and covered with self-inflicted tattoo scarring. In the series he’s blue, fuzzy and lighthearted. Wolverine, Cyclops, Xavier, Magneto, etc, are characters you’ll be immediately familiar with from the movies.

Is this a note intended to win the attention of X-Men droll book loyalists? Probably not.

It’s a prove about a group of young people coming into mutant powers who gain themselves thrust into the role of superhero…. or supervillian, depending on if they chose to join the X-Men or ally with Magneto. The animation style is quick-witted and contemporary, the stammer acting is trustworthy, there’s enough action and laughs to entertain the younger crowd and enough character development and plotline to withhold an older crowd entertained as well. It’s X-Men in a format superior enough for primetime. The character interactions are distinguished richer than you typically accumulate in engaging superhero shows and it’s impartial an all around immense explain.

Like any book (or comical book) converted to film, don’t collect so hung up on what got changed or “left out” and this will be a series you can really delight in.

I have seen many Wiggles movies with my son. All the intention from age 2 on up. I have never enjoyed their typical style of movie, which is mostly located in an indoor studio setting. Overall, my son likes the songs, the characters and the colors. But the indoor studio leaves noteworthy to be desired because it, simply, has a more produced feel. And the production is sparse, so it is creatively very non absorbing to me personally.My son looses interest after a while as well. The studio is very chaotic and unatural to the scenses–especially when it is produced with the usual Wiggle abominable lighting. I know a lot of adults and children fair worship the Wiggles, no matter where they are. But if you are an outdoor person, Wiggle Bay is the best Wiggles movie out there. Grand fable line, nice scenery (so the parents can at least savor watching, and grasp a tiny mini visual beach vacation) and kindly songs. I highly recommend this Wiggles movie for these reasons alone. I can’t say enough about the combination of the Wiggles characters located outdoors and with a better storyline than most of their movies. My son loves to content along, and finds the characters very laughable. I do hope the Wiggles opinion more of these on-location style movies. Next–Italy! Rome! Greece! Yellowstone! Bali! Switzerland! (can you yell we like to disappear!) Have fun watching this one

This is a fun DVD. My twin girls savor watching it to notice the mermaid as well as all the other Wiggle cast.

“(500) Days of Summer” is a wonderfully refreshing experience, a romantic comedy that doesn’t follow the rules of a romantic comedy. It’s inventive, luminous, and bright, a narrative of the dualities a young man lives with on a daily basis. On the one hand, there’s the duality between falling in cherish and believing that fancy doesn’t exist; Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) grew up believing in fate bringing soul mates together whereas Summer (Zooey Deschanel) grew up not believing in remarkable of anything, least of all lasting relationships. Levitt’s performance is a revelation. He plays Tom with sincerity. Tom is approachable and capable natured, highly confident yet not so above-it-all that he can’t be desperate and discouraged at times. He writes greeting cards for a living but has always dreamed of becoming an architect, and he often finds inspiration from the Los Angeles skyscrapers that surround him. His fable unfolds in great the same map a memory does, with fragments that pop up all out of sequence until the reality of those 500 days become sure. Some may be confused by this, but maintain in mind that memory and chronological order never go hand in hand. This is especially suitable when reflecting on a relationship. Tom continuously thinks befriend trying to form sense of it all, only to slay up considering the possibility that Summer was fair all along.

Deschanel, who seemed so awkward in films like “Yes Man” and “The Happening,” here is perfectly cast. Summer is charming, fun, and sweet, but she’s also mysterious, distant, and casual about life. She dates Tom and even makes adore to him, yet she will never search for him as anything more than a friend. She’s with him not because she’s in love–she’s fair having fun while living in the moment. It’s about all she can do given the fact that she can’t treasure anything, set for the length of her hair and the fact that she can slice it off without feeling anything. There are a few assume moments, however, when she connects with Tom at a more personal level, provocative him into her artsy apartment and eventually opening up about past experiences. This makes Tom feel appreciated, as he believes, perhaps correctly, that she doesn’t go this far with too many people.

By the waste of the film, Tom feels like someone we’ve gotten to know. Summer, on the other hand, remains enigmatic, underscoring the uncertainty engrained in any kind of relationship. There are times when Tom thinks he has her figured out. There are other times when it seems as if they’ve never even met. Loving relationships are based on compromises, and while Tom would be willing to produce a few, Summer most definitely would not. She does what she wants when she wants it. This is admirable, but when matters of the heart are alive to, the line does need to be drawn somewhere.

Tom’s emotional roller coaster traipse occasionally gets the visual treatment. In one scene, he becomes the star of a musical number featuring dancers and a cartoon bluebird. In another scene, he imagines himself as characters in dusky and white European art house films by Ingmar Bergman and Federico Fellini. The single most creative shot has him standing in the middle of the street while the buildings transform into an architectural sketch, great like the one he drew on Summer’s arm. Director Marc Webb treats these scenes not as showcases of special effects but as special moments of heightened reality, which is fitting given the battle waged between what Tom desires and what he actually gets. The most definite interpretation of this theme is a split-screen image leisurely in the film, one side marked “Expectations,” the other side marked “Reality.”

These extra touches originate this movie delightful, but its Gordon and Deschanel that form it a joy to explore. They have chemistry. You fill in them as accurate people and not merely as characters. They exhibit objective how talented they are as actors, although credit must also be given to Webb’s direction and the screenplay by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. They breathe life into “(500) Days of Summer,” a film we’re told good off the bat is not a fancy yarn. Nor should it be; we’ve seen fancy stories before, and while they more or less work as tantalizing distractions, rarely do they provide insight or even traces of plausibility. This movie is more ambitious than that. It aims to drawl a anecdote without resorting to cheap gimmicks like cliché dialogue or contrived plotlines. The ruin result is a epic that’s often humorous, often thoughtful, and always compelling.

Tom Hansen (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) falls head over heels for Summer Finch (Zooey Deschauel) the fresh girl working at his office. The yarn of their relationship is told in non-chronological order, including a few highly recent scenes such as Tom turning the streets of LA into a chorus line following his first night with Summer. You know from the commence that Tom and Summer are poke to split up. But the movie comes together nicely in the kill, showing that when one narrative ends another is drag to commence.

One thing I really like about this movie is that’s it’s the guy who is the hopeless romantic and the girl who remains emotionally distant. This inequity with the usual male-female stereotypes is refreshing and something I experienced myself when I was a young man. The movie is also quite nuanced and contains numerous references to classic literature, classic films and classic rock. In other words, it’s plot smarter than the usual Hollywood romantic comedy. It’s also more amusing and had me laughing out loud on several occassions. I do have to admit that the non-chronological sequencing of the 500 days left me dizzy at times and how noteworthy you like this movie will depend, to some extent, on how noteworthy you can identify with the main characters. But this is a well made movie and one proper of seeing.

I’m so enraged! I Treasure the unique Mulan, and I was hoping this would be half as genuine as the first. It wasn’t even that.

First of all, the music is bad and the animation lacks the romance, vision, and lunge of the current. The new team worked hard with their concepts, which was distinct. Whoever made made this…did not.

Second, the sigh talent was severely lacking this time around. Even the characters who ended up with the same snort actors sounded a bit flat. Like the actors were rushed or as if they fair didn’t really care.

Third, everyone seemed out of character! Not impartial their speech patterns, but in some cases their movements, manner, and ENTIRE PERSONALITIES were objective…severely diminished or entirely changed. These are not the characters I fell in adore with! At all!

Fourth, everything was disgustingly predictable. Gee…Mulan’s three male friends are looking for wives and honest HAPPEN to assist guard the three dazzling princesses? Golly…WHAT WILL HAPPEN? DUH. Can we say formula-written? The whole legend was unprejudiced…disappointing and derivative.

Fifth, I found it insulting to obsolete Chinese culture. Objective because our unique Western culture does not contemplate highly of or participate in arranged marriage doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, or that it wasn’t celebrated THERE. In fact, it is unruffled widely practiced in many countries, and you know what? It often works out! It was a piece of peoples culture, peaceful IS a allotment of peoples culture, and ISN’T improper. I found this movies’ villifying of arranged marriage and all who participate in it to be very insulting and typical “our USA map is the BEST map and the ONLY method, and everything else is Detestable”. I hope they never showed this movie over in China, or else I’ll be very embarassed for the USA.

Sixth…ugh, nevermind. I don’t even want to consider about this dreadful movie anymore. They should have left the Mulan series as a single movie - the one that retold the new narrative. But, being Disney, they fair HAD to add a crappy sequel and capitalize on the unbelievable fresh movie.

The only reason this got 2 stars instead of one? Although the scene at the bridge has been done a million times over and is NOT recent at all, it was well-done. Brought a slide to my explore, I admit. But it was a cheaply gained swagger, because I’ve seen the same scene in 92752375 different movies.

DO NOT observe this movie if you adore the current and don’t want your vision of it heinous. This movie is crap.

The memoir of Mulan II begins with Mulan thinking about marrying General Shang… which upsets one of Mulan’s spirit guides (Mushu) so powerful that he decides to sabotage their relationship. Mushu is scared that he will be demoted if Mulan goes through with her plans to marry General Shang, because tradition calls for the wife’s spirit guides to lose their pedestals in the household shrine at the time of marriage, meaning that they would then be subordinated to the husband’s ancestors. The tale moves aid to Mulan and Shang, who are asked by the Emperor to provide superior passage for the Emperor’s three daughters across China, so that they can be married to three princes in order to bring peace to China. Mulan and Shang depart with three trusted soldiers, who descend in care for with the princesses in their care… as Mushu begins his plans to rupture Mulan and Shang up. Mulan II is chunky of jokes, songs, and an considerable message about following your heart. My current portion of the film was one of the opening scenes, in which Mulan describes the importance of yin and yang in a comely song and dance number.
